San Casciano dei Bagni

The small thermal centre from Etruscan origins called San Casciani dei Bagni (province of Siena) is 80 km from the Farm of the Mulberries, it is located above a hill to the slopes of the Mountain of Cetona. Oaks, chestnut trees and centenary pines intimately wind it. It has the characteristic plants of the Middle Ages city with lanes and roads that develop it from the church and from the bell tower. The thermal center is a little out of the city heart. St. Casciano is famous for the curative ownerships of the 42 thermal sources that have origin in the mountain of Cetona: they are used for muds, baths, inhalations, aesthetical cares. Close to the thermal baths, also called Bath of Portico, is the basilical church; in the church of the Conception there is a painting attributed to the Pomarancio. Worthy of interest, at a few kilometers, the medieval surburb of Celle Sul Rigo that is linked with the permanence of the poet Giosuè Carducci and the castle of Fighine from the XI century.
